19th Century Dress

Well, it's been about a month and a half since I last posted. In  that time, I've been very busy!

First of all, I got a portfolio so that I don't have to use my lined notebook anymore (yay!), which means the designs are easier to see. I make photocopies of each design and put them in a section of the portfolio, so I can color them later.

I also made a "template" I can trace so I'm not estimating my proportions anymore. As you can see, the results are much improved.

The corset-style bodice is really pretty, in my opinion.

one wears these dresses anymore - they are so elegant and beautiful! The hairstyle is really more of a Renaissance style, but I could't help but pair it with the dress.

I colored darker on the folds to create a more realistic effect. It turned out very well!
I paired the flowers on the sleeve with the ones on the skirt in order to make the bodice and skirt seem like they "match".
